A Slow January

Hello again! I hope no one has given up on us!

Its been a fairly slow month - we've mostly been working on the weekends only.

Barb finished the lamp, and it looks amazing! :)

We also finished painting all of the kitchen cabinets and doors. Our kitchen nearly looks done! Just some more trim work!

...and the counter top crack needs to be fixed. We haven't gotten it sorted out either...

Barb created curtains for the dining room windows:

She is so amazing that she painted the hallway too!

We decided to paint the fuse box as well. It blends in with the wall REALLY, REALLY well now.

Brandon finished the crown molding in the bedroom, which meant that we could FINALLY hang pictures on the walls. We planned the layout first, and then we went for it! We chose fewer pictures than we had at the last house, and it seems much more balanced.

We started hanging pictures in the dining room too (coffee pictures, of course), and everything was going great! Brandon was really excited to hit a "stud" while hanging pictures, until he realized it was actually a drainpipe from the toilet upstairs. Whoops.

Luckily, it was a CLEAN hole, so we were able to fix the hole with "AMAZING GOOP."  The guys at Ace are starting to know us pretty well... It truly is the helpful place though. They are good to us. Brandon fixed the hole and we should be hanging the pictures by 3M strips this weekend.

The NICEST things we've put up are the new shelves in the front room. It felt really good to get some of our personal stuff out and into our house. We even forgot we owned some of the things we put out!

Barb had her 26th Birthday last weekend, and Brandon gave her an AWESOME North Face jacket. AND he made her a yellow cake. Isn't he awesome?

Today, we demolished the light over the sink, and Barb primed it all. It looks FANTASTIC. It really makes the room taller and lets more light in.

More projects to come!! (Will they ever really stop?)
